Achievement badges:
There will be 35 new Cub Scout badges designed and available for 2005. Each badge will have two levels. The new badges have been placed into four groups, with the backgrounds colour-coded accordingly:

1. Nature, Science and Technology - pale green background;
2. Art and Literature - beige background;
3. Sport and Recreation - pale grey background; and
4. Our World - pale blue background.

The levels will be identified by the over-locking around the edges - green for level 1 and maroon for level 2.

How do the Organisers Organise...

After participating in another successful District event, I wondered, "Are other Districts organising these events?" Then I remembered the old How the Organisers Organise the Organisers to make the Organisation Seem Simply Simple that was produced by the old Chelsea District to give a bit of a heads up on these events. "Be nice to have a current version of that ..." I though to myself.

Adventurous Activities :: Activities that present a greater element of risk than any other normal Scouting activity are referred to as "Adventurous Activities".

Billy Cart Derby :: A Billy Cart Deby with Cub made carts

Klondike Derby :: An interesting idea from the BSA, a Billy Cart Deby on snow.

Spooks Night :: Halloween Programs.

Swim Carnival :: A Cub Scout swimming carnival with an emphasis on fun, rather than competition.

GOLD! :: Let's get some Gold!! into the program; Eureka 150, Gold Rush themes

Water Rockets :: A good Cub program should not be rocket science ... but it can involve Rocket Science!

KubKar (Pinewood Derby) :: Wooden car racing!
