Go 4 It!

Picture this: A sea of a few thousand Cub Scouts, singing and dancing together to the Cuboree theme song. Even the Cubs who weren’t the dancing type were bopping around. Happy, smiling faces, and the feel of real friendship in the air. It is electrifying to see, let alone feel.

Being part of a Cuboree is an experience everyone should feel at least once. I know, you might think, “Too many people” or “I don’t like camping” or “I won’t be able to cope”; But you don’t notice all the difficulties you thought you might have had, because you’re too busy having fun.

Camp Roswell::Go Extreme

"Do you call that two straight lines? I have seen Joey's form better lines than that! If that's the best you can do the aliens will eat you for breakfast!"

"This activity is the Roswell Rescue Climbing training! Normally with climbing training we would train you to climb UP the wall, but our spies have informed us that you are already driving your leaders up the wall. We will teach you to climb ACROSS the wall!"

"You will climb by using your hands and your feet in the holes on the wall. Do not touch the top bar! We taped razor blades to the top of the wall; and the first aid guys are getting quite upset as they are running out of super glue to stick fingers back on with! ... use your hands in the holes!!"

"Are your ready? CLIMB!!"

Some of the best parts about Cuboree ...

  • The Cubs giving you 'alien high fives' as they left the activity
  • Working with a great team of leaders
  • The Venturers asisting wheelchair bound Cubs on the climbing wall; then awarding them the key for effort
  • 400 Cubs banging their plates on the table to "We will rock you" at Gunyah 4 meal times :)
  • Wombo's Antarctic 'poo' stories
  • No major injuries even with our high risk profile! (good risk management!!)
  • Cubs listening intently to Bob's maze rules "... and most important, no farting!"

“We aim to give these young people one of the best experiences of their lives!”
- David Elliott, Cuboree Director
