1st Eltham Family Camp

A great activity !

The 1st Eltham Family Camp was held at Clifford Park on the 4th to 6th of June 2004.
Starting on the Friday night, many families braved the cold Melbourne temperatures to settle in early for the weekend. A combination of tents, vans and on-site cabins were occupied during the weekend.

On the Saturday many activities were underway such as the "Challenge Valley" obstacle course, Billy Cart driving, Beach Volley Ball, BMX cycling and canoeing on the Yarra.

Saturday evening saw a gathering at the OKE eating shelter with a birthday party (complete with Pinyata!). Around 80 people were present for the birthday cake, showing how big an activity the weekend really was.

After tea there was a Group campfire.

Following on from the campfire was "Clifford Idol" with youth members competing for the put downs from the judges. Some of our Gang Show cast members put on some 'sneek previews'

Some impromptu fire twirling finished off the evening.

Sunday morning started slowly (and cold!) with most campers gathering up at the Chapel for Scouts Own at about 10:30am. The BMX track was also in use during the morning.

Sunday afternoon was spent on the abseiling tower, with some Cubs having 10 or more jumps! Late afternoon saw the canoes paddled around to the pull out point, and loaded onto the trailer for a 5pm departure.
