2004 :: What did we do?

District Sailing Day (28th October, 2004)
November 28th, Scout Sailing Center - Sandringham. Well we managed to get 63 from the District, pretty good! A fun time was had by all, in-spite of the pile of smelly seaweed that had to be negotiated to get into the water.

Eltham Festival (13-14th November, 2004)
November 13-14th The Eltham Festival was on again. Our participation was down to marching in the parade this year, but with all of the local flooding experienced over this weekend that was probably not a bad thing. The march followed an unusal route through the reserves this year, and didn't seem to be as successful as previous years. 1st Eltham had a good turnout from the Joeys and we had 3 Gellibrand Cubs, being the only Scout Group in the march we had several membership enquiries at the Scout's sausage sale tent on the oval. A good result!

47th Jamboree On The Air / 8th Jamboree On The Internet (16-17th October, 2004)
JOTA stands for Jamboree of the Air, and JOTI stands for Jamboree on the Internet. This worldwide Scouting event attracts over half a million participants every year, making it the largest single event on the Scouting calendar. It is also the only International event in which all sections may take part simultaneously.

1st Eltham Family Camp (4-6th June, 2004)
The 1st Eltham Family Camp was held at Clifford Park on the 4th to 6th of June 2004. Starting on the Friday night, many families braved the cold Melbourne temperatures to settle in early for the weekend. A combination of tents, vans and on-site cabins were occupied during the weekend.
