New Uniform Available July 2004

From July 2004, a new Scouts Australia uniform will be available for Youth Members and Leaders.

The core uniform will be a dark blue shirt with the relevant youth section colour across the sleeves, yoke and collar; a blue or moss-green belt and a scarf and woggle.

Scouts may wear neat attire of their choice below the waist, although some groups or Branches may specify a style to be worn by their Members. Headwear will also be appropriate for the occasion and will be determined by the State Branch the Scout belongs to.

This is an approach also used by a number of European Scout organisations.

Scouts Australia Uniform

"Within the Movement the adult uniform enables the Leaders to be closely identified with those they lead. The uniform also expresses the basic values that are involved in being an Adult Leader. As an adult Leader the uniform expresses the fact that we are all equals before the task in hand. Common ideals are shared and we can recognise the roles of other Leaders by the insignia on their uniforms." -- Scouts Australia
