DISTRICT SAILING DAY

DISTRICT SAILING DAY SUNDAY 28th NOVEMBER

We want all groups to support this day if you can, as it was one of the three major events we elected to do for the year.

WHERE: Sandringham Guide and Scout Sailing Centre Mel Ref 76 F8
**Coins for parking fees public parking area.

WHEN: 9.00am for 9.30am start. (we will be required to help get the boats ready) All boats off the water for packup at 3.00pm. Ready to leave by 4.00pm

HOW MUCH: $10.00 per person participating in water activities ( if you use the equipment, go for a sail or paddle, you pay.) Parents minding children on the beach free. Leaders and adults are expected to help on the day.

BRING:

  • BYO lunch and snacks.
  • Pocket money for drinks and souvenirs (badges).
  • Sneakers at all times. No bare feet, even in the water.
  • Spray jacket, waterproof slicker / pullover for on the water.
  • Togs, change of clothes.
  • Wear uniform
  • Slip Slop Slap

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: sailing, canoeing, paddle boarding, sand sculpture, operation penguin (litter pickup)

LEADERS: think of a beach shelter, as well as pack flag/banner

Well we managed to get 63 from the District, pretty good! A fun time was had by all, in-spite of the pile of smelly seaweed that had to be negotiated to get into the water.

We were divided into 3 groups and had 3 repective activities; sailing, canoes and paddle boards.
