Description

The goal of a Research Forum (RF) is to create dialogue and discussion, by offering PME members more elaborated presentations, reactions, and discussions on topics on which substantial research has been undertaken and which continue to hold the active interest of a large subgroup of PME. Two 90-minute slots will be devoted to each Research Forum. A Research Forum is not supposed to be a collection of presentations but to convey an overview of an area of research, its main current questions and perspectives.

A Research Forum should:

For the PME29 Conference, the Program Committee and the International Committee select the topics and co-ordinators of the Research Forums.

Co-ordinators must submit a full description of their Research Forum to the Conference Secretariat (page 6) not later than January 12, 2005 taking into account the comments they received from the IC and the PC after the first description was reviewed. A draft version of the full papers from all contributors should reach the Conference Secretariat not later than 1 March, 2005. The final papers to be included in the Proceedings should be sent to the Conference Secretariat before May 1, 2005. It is strongly recommended that you use the forms on the PME29 website or directly from http://igpme.org/forms/RFproposal.html .

In order to be included in the Conference Program and in the Conference Proceedings, all co-ordinators of a Research Forum must pay the conference deposit not later than 12 January, 2005, and full Registration Fee not later than 31 May, 2005.

Proposals for research forums for the 2006 conference are due in the hands of the PME Executive Secretary by 31 May 2005. For details, click here ...

Guidelines

Coordinators of approved Research Forum proposals have to submit a rewritten description to the Conference Secretariat not later than 12 January, a draft version of the full papers from all contributors not later than 1 March, and the final papers not later than 1 May, 2005.

Call for Research Forums for PME30 in 2006 (Prague)

Proposals for a Research Forum to be organised at PME30 in Prague, Czech Republic should be in the hands of the Executive Secretary (NOT the conference secretariat) not later than 31 May, 2005 . It is strongly recommended to use the forms on the PME29 website or directly on http://igpme.org/forms/RFproposal_next_conference.html . The proposals will be discussed by the International Committee at their meeting just before PME29 in Melbourne.

The co-ordinators will be informed as soon as possible, during or just after the conference, whether the International Committee accepted their proposal and about the International Committee's recommendations for further work. Taking these recommendations into consideration, the RF proposal co-ordinators should rewrite the proposal for the Program Committee of PME30 and complete the procedure of submitting their RF papers.
